Six weeks ago, Fire Training Officer Jim Weaver was appointed to train 21 volunteers to become firefighters in Lee County.
Tuesday night he told commissioners that group has dropped to 15.
But Weaver said all of the remaining volunteers are working well together.
“That will give us more volunteers out there, and be a part of their community and it's a valuable resource to have volunteers, said Fire Training Officer Weaver.
The volunteers train on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Their training should be complete by Mid May.
