LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - The cause of a South Lowndes County fire Tuesday evening remained under investigation Tuesday night.
Around 5 p.m., fire fighters were called out to 3430 Hwy. 41 South for a report of a structure fire. When they got there, they found a large workshop on fire next to the home.
Homeowner Larry Bundrick said he had gone to get the mail and when he turned around to come back to the house that was when he noticed the smoke and flames.
"As I got closer, it was the shop and it was just totally engulfed," Bundrick explained. "We got my father in law out, my wife, my self, and the fire department got here fast and kept it from gettin' to the house."
No one was hurt. Bundrick said the workshop had not been used in about 10 years.
