Thieves cut through the floor of a central Albany business to burglarize it, leaving owners wondering what they have to do to stop the crooks.
Owners of Crawford and Sons Oil on West Third Avenue discovered the hole in their floor Monday morning when they opened. The thieves crawled under the business, and cut the hole right next to their safe, but could not get into it. All they took was toilet paper and gatorade. In November burglars stole the company's computers, so they increased security, but not in the floor.
Crawford And Sons Oil Vice President Bill Crawford said "We've got alarms and bars and sensors. Anything we can do to stop them. But that's all we can do."
Crawford said it cost about $200 to repair the hole in their floor, and will increase security to stop any more break ins from below.
