The 9th annual Albany Marathon... run through the streets of the Good Life City Saturday... may have been the most successful yet. More than 15-hundred racers took part in the marathon and half-marathon, and more than 17-hundred volunteers helped pull it all off without a hitch.
Albany has gained a sparkling reputation in the running world as a great place to race. Comments from visitors before, during, and after the race were almost universally positive.
Runners praised the organizers and volunteers for putting on an extremely well-run event.
The Mardi Gras Street Festival following the race was also a success with more than 20-thousand people attending.
