ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Tech signs an agreement with Fort Valley State University allowing students to complete engineering degrees there.
Engineering departments at both schools signed an articulation agreement at Albany Tech today. It allows students who earn an associate's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology at Albany Tech College to move into the Bachelor's program in the same field at Fort Valley State.
"A student is able to save money by coming here first for the first two years and then transferring," said Manuel Hall, Department Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Albany Tech.
"It enables us by the partnership to have a greater contribution to work force development and it's a win win situation for students in our communities," said Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, President of Fort Valley State University.
Fort Valley State also recently signed similar agreements with Central Georgia Tech in Criminal Justice and Bio technology. They're also currently in talks with officials at ABAC.
