ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The 14th annual Albany Mardi Gras Street Festival kicked off in Downtown Albany today.
Local bands got a chance to rock the stage. There's also face painting and animal shows for the kids. The Albany Humane Society was there encouraging people to adopt homeless animals. More than 35 food vendors were also present. Several people said trying different foods is there favorite part.
"Because I like the taste," said Shamya Parker.
"You can see I got me a little something to eat," said Frank Wright.
"Alligator Sticks," said Betty Wright.
"To have a good time," said Brianna Morgan.
Admission is five dollars per person. Children ten and under are free. Ticket sales end at 8:30 p.m.
