THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's office released the names of three people who died in a fire early Friday morning.
According to a report, Christine Mae Sampson, 61, Earl Milton McClain, 52, and Nathaniel Barnes, 67, died in the fire.
The house on Madison Alley was completely destroyed.
Officials said the fire broke out around 5:30 a.m.
An initial investigation revealed that the fire originated in a rear bedroom of the home, where fire investigators discovered the remnants of a space heater and a charred electric strip. Investigators were unable to determine if the home had a working smoke alarm.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The victim's remains will be sent to the state crime lab for autopsy.

This was the second deadly fire in Thomasville in 7 days.
