Americus police are investigating a strange armed robbery at a drug store. A man ran into the CVS on East Forsyth Wednesday night at 9 o'clock and demanded prescription pills from the pharmacists.
He showed workers a device strapped to him which he claimed was a bomb. Investigators are working to determine what it was.
"So it's kind of alarming. Again, we don't have a very good description of this device so we don't know whether it was a rouse or whether in fact it was a device," said Police Chief Brian Carney.
Police have not released any surveillance video, but the robber is a white man about 25 years old. He was last seen in a gray minivan driving down Mayo Street.
