ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An historical marker may soon go up at the Albany home where former Governor George Busbee raised his family and ran his campaign.
Bo Johnson owns property next door. He bought the West 3rd Avenue home when it came up for sale and is putting in an application with the state's historical commission to have a historical marker put up.
“I think sometimes here in Albany we don't appreciate the history that we have and this is a prime example, to have an individual like George Busbee, who was one of Georgia's most beloved governors,” says owner Bo Johnson.
He plans to rent out the home as office space.
