THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - School officials said the upcoming merger of Moultrie and Southwest Georgia Technical Colleges shows a promising future for enrollment.
The schools will formerly merge July 1 and will be called Southern Regional Technical College.
President Dr. Craig Wentworth said the merger will provide a more efficient college by making better use of shared resources.
“It's going to give us an opportunity to increase the enrollment in the college because we will be able to offer some programs in locations that they're not currently being offered,” said Dr. Wentworth.
After the merger, the college's dual-enrollment program for high school students is projected to be the largest in the state with more than 1,100 students.
