LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -
Despite Saturday's dreary weather lots of folks came out to support the 9/11 heroes run in Leesburg.
Its the third year for the event to honor first responders, military personnel, and veterans.
It's also in memory of Marine Steve Sutton who died while serving in Afghanistan in 2012.
Organizers say its a reminder freedom is not free.
“What this is about is bringing community together, to recognize its not about one. It's about everybody, and everybody coming together to remember the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans," says YMCA President and CEO Dan Gillan.
Funds raised from the run will be used to build the first habit house in Leesburg. Copyright 2015 WALB. All rights reserved.
