Colquitt Co. superintendent to increase security after fight at junior high school

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - Colquitt County Superintendent Dr. Samuel DePaul has confirmed that a fight broke out Friday involving a group of students at C.A. Gray Junior High School.

DePaul says the fight happened just before classes started, and one male student did go to the hospital with injuries.

DePaul says no teachers were injured during the incident.

He says to his knowledge no weapons were involved.

The Colquitt County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation, and they are waiting for the results.

He says law enforcers were at the school working today.

Because of concerns DePaul says they've decided to have increased security at the school on Monday, and the rest of the week if needed.

He says Moultrie Police, and deputies with the Colquitt Co. Sheriff's office will be present.
