ADEL, GA (WALB) - NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Travis Kvapils withdrew from a race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, after his car and trailer were stolen overnight.
The same thing happened to Americus based racing team Star Racing.
George Bryce's Star Racing company had their rig stolen ten years ago in Omaha, just days before a race in Minnesota.
Bryce and his team had to offer a reward, make calls and got help from folks in the area.
And in the end, the rig was recovered.
"Within a couple of days, the rig showed up in a Wal-Mart parking lot with almost everything," said George Bryce. "We were insured for $650,000. And our insurance company was about to pass out and faint."
Bryce said by they were able to get the insurance down to $40,000 dollars.
The thieves did get away with all of the computers and tools.
