BERRIEN CO., GA (WALB) - Friday, the Berrien County Sheriff's Office was asking residents in the Western part of the county to be on alert after several recent burglaries there.
Three homes had been broken into in the past two weeks.
In each case, the burglars waited until they knew the homeowners would be gone and then they kicked in a door or broke through a window and stole whatever they could get their hands on.
There had also been several similar burglaries in Cook and Tift counties during the same time. "We have upped the patrols in that area, but now we're gonna go a little step further and we're gonna start havin' some extra road checks out in that area," said Berrien County Sheriff Anthony Heath.
If you have any information or see anything suspicious, call the Berrien County Sheriff's office immediately.
