Fugitive gives up after motel standoff

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Sheriff's Deputies talked a wanted fugitive into surrounding after a 15 minute standoff.

Deputies went to the King's Inn motel about 8:00PM Thursday night, to arrest Alfred Hunter, Jr. on warrants for robbery, aggravated assault, and three counts of child cruelty.

Deputies say Hunter barricaded the motel room door and refused to come out. His father came and helped deputies talk Hunter into surrendering peacefully.

Hunter is now in the Dougherty County jail.
