Woman dead after chase, shooting, crash

WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Authorities say one person is dead in the wake of a chase and shooting on Hwy. 133 in Worth County.

It happened late Thursday afternoon.

Officials said that a deputy attempted to stop a car on Georgia Hwy. 520, and that's when the driver drove away.

Deputies pursued the car, that had a man and woman inside.

Investigators said there were stolen guns in the car.

According to a report, Worth County deputies chased the driver of a car along the highway before it lost control and flipped off of the shoulder.

That's when they said the woman climbed out of the car, and pointed a gun at deputies, who shot and killed her.

The Coroner confirmed the death at the crash scene.
