ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Three Dougherty County teachers are recognized for their hard work in the classroom.
System leaders surprised Terri Brown Moore at Lake Park Elementary School, Zelda White-Davis at Albany Middle, and Lyschel Shipp at Dougherty Comprehensive High School with the famous game balls. They honor hardworking and high achieving teachers.
"To receive this award is an honor, to me to see that I'm being recognized. And I don't really see teaching as a job, it was a calling for me," said Terri Brown Moore.
"I was surprised at first. And I'm not the teary type, but I almost cried," said Zelda White Davis.
"It means a lot to know that I've been making some kind of impact on the students especially, because that's really what it's all about," said Lyschel Shipp.
Dr. David Mosely started the initiative last year and tries to give out the awards about every three months.
