ATLANTA, GA (WALB) - In the General Assembly, the Georgia House of Representatives just passed House Bill 76, the FY 2016 fiscal year budget.
The Fine Arts Building for Albany State University has been funded in the House budget.
Governor Nathan Deal's first proposed budget did not include the $24 million that the Dougherty County legislative delegation had hoped to get, to start construction of the long-awaited Fine Arts Center at ASU.
Local lawmakers said in January they would continue to push for full funding this year.
The Budget has to be passed by the Senate, and then signed by Governor Nathan Deal.
