CAIRO, GA (WALB) -  All Cairo police patrol officers and investigators will soon wear body cameras while on duty.

Right now, the department has four cameras that are shared among 16 officers.

This week, the city council agreed to pay more than $18,000 for 20 new cameras.

Chief Keith Sandefur recommended more cameras, after realizing how the technology efficiently records and stores evidence.
