SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - The Best Friends Humane Society raised money Tuesday night on World Spay Day.
Best Friends Humane Society held a Spay-ghetti dinner at the public library in Sylvester.
Liberty Tax Office in Tifton also presented the shelter with a $300 check.
All the money will pay to spay or neuter animals.
"We've been blessed with the community support that we have. We would've never opened the shelter without the community support and they have been there when we needed it the four years we've been in business. So keeping the doors open is a community effort and we are most appreciative for that," said Shelly Mcphaul, President.
The shelter plans to hold a yard sale next month and host Bark in the Park in April.
They're working to raise more money because their workload is up at a time when the county cut their funding.
