ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Florida authorities are taking James Hiawatha Russell from Georgia to Florida, where he faces a murder charge, over a five dollar debt.
Officials say that Russell killed 36-year-old Phillipe Foster in Jacksonville in an argument over the five dollars in 2012, and then fled to Georgia.
U. S. Marshals tracked him to the Motel 6 in East Albany, and arrested him in a motel room in February of 2013, under a false name.
He was charged with drug, weapons, and ID theft in Georgia.
Now he will be tried for Phillipe's murder in Duval County, Florida.
