South Georgia newspaper preserves its history

DONALSONVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A South Georgia newspaper is preserving its history.

Next year is the 100th anniversary of the Donalsonville News.

The paper made renovations to their new building to showcase old printing presses, equipment, and photographs.

The museum helped kick start a financial campaign to create a Seminole County Museum and Heritage Park.

"So we thought if we could pulls this off and show the community how we could do something with just one little section, one little area of our history we could do that community wide. So we put this together and we jump started the possibility of bringing a Seminole County Museum idea to fruition,” said David Maxwell, Managing Editor.

The museum is free and open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
