FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) - On Saturday, a man crashed his vehicle into the Huddle House in Fitzgerald. Manager Georgia Johnson says four booths, two glass windows, and lots of brick was destroyed.
It may be a week before the restaurant can reopen. Johnson says the driver hit the gas instead of the brake, and jumped the curb.
While she's glad no one was injured, Johnson says they missed out on some good business on Sunday.
“Were missing quite a bit of business. Sundays is one of our better days of the week. We stay busy from six in the morning till all day long. We are opened 24 hours a day here,” says Georgia Johnson, Huddle House Manager.
She says the Huddle House was hit by a vehicle once before, but nothing as this bad as the crash.
