ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany city officials have not made a decision on what to do with the Deputy City Manager position.
Sunday city officials kicked off their first day retreat at Lake Blackshear.
They'll be reviewing what goals they reached last year and what they want to accomplish in the future. Items to be discussed on the agenda are storm water updates, solid waste, and the deputy city manager position.
"At this point we have not had the opportunity since our last meeting, since we all heard the news to have that discussion. So that is what we will do, we will go back to the drawing board now and decide what it is what we want to do," said Dorothy Hubbard, Albany Mayor.
On Thursday, Lonnie Ballard decided not to take the job of Deputy City Manager. Interim City Manager Tom Berry said he had no comment on the decision. The city commission retreat will continue tomorrow.
