ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty Co. police are investigating a single-car crash. They are also searching for the driver involved in the crash.
Albany Fire Department said the driver hit a fire hydrant and a power line pole. The vehicle caught fire.
It happened near 170 Lovers Lane Road around 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police have identified Jeffrey Ranew as the driver of the green expedition. He was wanted in Lee Co. for bond revocation.
Police said he left the scene of the accident and they are continuing to search for him.
Ranew has been charged him with failure to maintain lane and leaving scene of accident by DCP.
DCP also said that other charges are pending.
Georgia Power has been working most of Sunday morning to try and repair the power line pole.
When the driver hit the pole it knocked out power to two homes on Lovers Lane Rd.
Crews said they may have to cut off power to some of the other homes on the road to make repairs.
However, they hope to have the repairs completed by Sunday afternoon.
The driver was not injured.
