MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - South Georgia Law enforcers and volunteers are recognized for their efforts of getting drunk drivers off the roads.
The South Georgia Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving held their 7th annual recognition banquet today. Officials recognized over 200 South Georgia law enforcers and volunteers with the MADD Victim's Impact Panel. Law enforcers also received a pin for each DUI arrest they made during the last year.
"We as law enforcement cannot thank Gary Robinson and his team enough for taking the time to recognize these officers," said Roger Hayes, Director of Law Enforcement Services for the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
"The police officers and the volunteers have done wonderful work around here and I couldn't have done it without the volunteers," said Gary Robinson, South Georgia MADD Chapter President. "I have some of the best volunteers right here in South Georgia."
The law enforcers who were recognized made over 2,000 DUI arrests in South Georgia and North Florida last year.
