Rami becomes mascot for Moultrie Humane Society

Rami will become the shelter's new mascot. Rami will become the shelter's new mascot.
MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society announced they would adopt Rami as their new ambassador for the organization.

After receiving over 1,000 applications for the pit bull dachshund mix, they decided it was best to keep Rami at the shelter to spread his mission.

Volunteers at the shelter hope Rami's popularity will bring more people into their local shelters to adopt animals in need of a new home.

The shelter hosted an open house event Saturday to unveil their new dog run and announce the next steps for Rami.

Since Rami's story went viral, the shelter has seen an increase among adoptions,
