THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) -
Nearly 400 students with specials needs came to Thomas county to show off their moves on the dance floor.
Thomas County Central hosted a Roaring 20's themed Special Education dance Friday, inviting students of all ages from across South Georgia.
Thanks to donations from bakeries and DJs, this year's dance was their biggest success yet.
Dance Coordinator Alma Simmons said, “It's priceless. There's nothing you can say. The smiles and the enjoyment that these kids have each and every year. I don't think I'll ever be able to give it up, even if I retire!”
Volunteers said many of these kids don't get the opportunity to go to prom, so this is their moment to shine.
