TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Annie Belle Clark Primary School in Tifton is making a difference for students with autism.
Kim Bruce received her TEACH certification last year and is now applying the that method in the classroom. Even though it is her first year, the faculty and students are both really excited about how things are going.
The concept of teaching is based on structured activities to get the students excited about learning.
"If you structure their environment then you can use the structure to teach the curriculum so whatever curriculum that state of Georgia or Tift County has adapted for our students," said Kim Bruce occupational therapist and autism coordinator.
"He has learned so much, ever since he started working with these students and they do an amazing job," said parent Ashley Pits.
All of the students are taking to the program and have made dramatic improvements.
