WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - This week's WALB Student-Athlete of the Week not only makes it all come together on the field, but has passion for putting things together in the classroom.
Tyler Moore plays catcher for Worth County, which makes him the manager on the diamond
But he also does a good job managing his studies off the field.
Local Colony Bank President Walter Patten made an appearance to help honor Moore as student athlete of the week.
The Rams senior is taking all honors and AP classes and has straight A's, with an overall 3.7 grade point average.
Moore is getting looks from multiple schools to play ball.
He hasn't committed to any school yet, but knows what he wants to major in.
"I want to major in mechanical engineering," said Moore. "Hopefully somewhere along the lines of putting stuff together. I like building stuff. I like seeing it fall through and working, and having a purpose."
Moore's coach, Will Smith, also said he enjoyed coaching him because he handles responsibility well and continues to learn on the field.
Tyler has been our starting catcher for the last three years," said Smith. "And not only is he a student in the classroom that makes excellent grades, but he's also a student of the game. He's really improved a lot over the last few years of managing the game."
