DAWSON, GA (WALB) - Anyone who needs somewhere warm to stay Thursday night can go to the Dawson Police station.
Officers opened a classrooms and break room for those in need.
They also have cots for people to sleep on.
Officers open their doors any time extreme cold hits South Georgia.
"It's intended for people who have no heat or inadequate heat. It gives them a place to come. Well have security on site so they need not worry about that," said Tommy Poupard, Dawson Assistant Police Chief.
Officers said anyone in Dawson or Terrell County is welcome to come stay the night.
