VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The cause of a late Thursday afternoon hotel fire in Valdosta was still under investigation Thursday evening.

Flames and smoke were showing when firefighters arrived, but they were on scene within two minutes and quickly got the fire under control.

Approximately 10 guests were staying in the hotel at the time of the fire. "We had seven units that is involved in the structure fire. We're narrowin' it down right now to the central unit which the fire originated in," said Valdosta Fire Marshal, Cpt. James Clinkscales.
