Rami's adopter to be revealed Saturday

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -  This Saturday, people will finally find out the lucky person chosen to adopt Rami, an unusual pit bull dachshund mix that got national attention.

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society will host an open house so folks can meet Rami and other animals at the shelter.

They'll unveil their a dog run and take donations for t-shirts to spread Rami's mission. 

There will also be a doggie kissing booth for Rami to show some love.

MCCHS President Dawn Blanton said, “We hope that, by bringing people in this Saturday, we will have a lot more adoptions and a lot more pets to walk out those doors.  That is our main goal.”

The shelter got more than 1,000 inquiries from people wanting to adopt Rami.

They'll announce his new family Saturday.

The event runs from 10 a.m till 2 p.m.

    Dougherty Co. students are now out of school for the summer and the City of Albany wants to inform students about various summer programs. Fight Albany Blight will host a Summer Youth Programs Fair on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Community Recreational Center.
