HAHIRA, GA (WALB) - A Lowndes County man was facing burglary charges Thursday, as sheriff's office investigators said a homeowner caught him red-handed.
Sheriff's investigators said Jonathon Boyd entered a garage in the 5800 block of Bird Hall Road Saturday and began taking tools. The homeowner found Boyd and demanded he leave.
Boyd began walking away, but another neighbor kept an eye on him until deputies arrived. "This was a perfect example of neighbors looking out for their neighborhood and knowin' what's goin' on and who should and who shouldn't be in there neighborhood," said Lowndes County Sheriff's Office Lt. Stryde Jones.
After arresting Boyd, deputies found tools stashed in a bush nearby. They believed he was planning to come back and pick them up later.
Boyd remained in jail Thursday night on $15,000 bond.
