Southwest Ga. Quail Forever Chapter donates to help support quail conservation

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Southwest Georgia Quail Forever Chapter makes donations to two organizations to support quail conservation and research.

Tuesday, they presented a 15-thousand dollar check to the Florida/Georgia Quail Coalition and a $10,000 check to the Tall Timbers Research Center/Albany Quail Project.

They raised the money during last month's Quail Invitational hunt.

“We want to make sure that others have those opportunities and that the heritage of hunting in Southwest Georgia is preserved and this is one of those ways that we can do that and for a first time event to come out and be able to make this kind of contribution back to the community we're very proud of that,” said Tommy Gregors, Treasurer.

Next year's hunt is already scheduled for January 28th through 30th.
