WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - The Worth County Clerk is questioning why she was put on probation.
Rene Whidby filed a grievance against the county commissioners after she said they placed her on a 60-day probationary period January 5th without explanation.
Whidby did not speak at a hearing Tuesday night, but NAACP leaders said the action is racial discrimination.
"Right now we are here mostly on moral support. We are investigating it and right now like I said we are just here on moral support and we will be looking into it further. We are going to do an investigation," said Chris Wheeler, NAACP Vice President of Worth Co.
A grievance hearing was set for March 3rd.
Whidby says she will speak at that hearing.
We were unable to speak to commissioners to find out why they put Whidby on probation.
