PLAINS, GA (WALB) - Some folks spent their Presidents' Day with a US president in Plains. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn spent the day at Plains High School talking about their time in the White House.
The couple also signed books for guests and talked about ways to help those in need. It was a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about experiences in the Oval Office.
"It's an opportunity for everybody to come learn about Plains, Georgia and the Jimmy Carter national historic site and also learn about the time that President and Mrs. Carter had when they served in the White House," said Steve Theus with the National Parks Services.
Theus said people came from all across the country and state to attend the event.
