Four arrested in traffic stop

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Last Wednesday, February 11 around 2:30AM, Lowndes County deputies stopped a vehicle in the 2400 block of Madison Highway, after a domestic dispute complaint. 

The deputy noticed a smell of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the car. The driver, Phillip Crumpton, was detained when officers learned he was driving  on a suspended license.

Crumpton gave permission for a search of the vehicle, and approximately 6 grams of cocaine was found inside the car, digital scales, a small quantity of marijuana and a .25 caliber handgun were found. The pistol's serial number had been altered.

He and the three people in the car were arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. They have since appeared in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing where a bond was considered.

Phillip J. Crumpton, 28, Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, Possession of drug related object, Driving with a suspended license.

Michael J. Evans, 17, was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number,  Possession of drug related object, Possession of a pistol under the age of 18, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Whitlee N. Seagram, 25, was charged with Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, Possession of drug related object, and Possession of marijuana.

Jarvaz C. Miller, 22, was charged with Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number Possession of drug related object, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
