ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia Humane Society Officials said Saturday's Valentine pet adoption was a success.
The Be My Valentine Pet Adoption at Pet Smart continued in Albany Saturday. Four dogs and one cat were adopted from the Terrell, Albany and Worth County Humane Societies Saturday.
At least 20 animals were in need of a home. Officials say they are proud of the results and hope to find more homes for their animals.
"The Humane Society of Terrell County adopted out one cat and we have two dog adoptions pending. Which is a tremendous success because these are actually dogs that are sisters. And they've been together their whole lives and so we're really excited about the family that is adopting them together," said Lucie Beeley, Terrell County Humane Society President.
Beeley is encouraging animal lovers to adopt a pet from their local animal shelter or rescue group.
