Dawson Police checking out car seats

DAWSON, GA (WALB) - Dawson police want parents to come meet them and have their car seats checked Saturday. The event kicks off at 432 Crawford Street 10 AM.

Officers recognized the need for the safety check after seeing kids buckled in incorrectly.

"They know what to look for and we're seeing a lot of problems. Improperly restrained child, non restrained at all so we're just trying to head this problem off in Terrell County," said Assistant Police Chief Tommy Poupard.

Just bring your child, your car seat, and your car. Food will be served, and the event will last until the last car leaves.
