ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Susan Embert has signed extradition papers in Santa Rosa County, Florida, as a first step to return to Albany after being indicted in the death of her husband. A judge must approve it, and that could take up to a month.

A Dougherty County Grand Jury has indicted a Dougherty County woman for murdering her husband, and staging it to look like a suicide.

Embert was arrested by Milton, Florida police.

Prosecutors say Susan Embert shot her husband Jake Embert, a long time Marine Base employee, at their home on Hibiscus Road last June, and made it look like a suicide.

His death was ruled a suicide at the time.
