ALBANY, GA (WALB) - You can help make the 9th Annual Albany Marathon and Half Marathon a success.
Runners from 34 states and two countries have signed up to run on Saturday March 7th, But you don't need a pair of running shoes to take part.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to pass out race packets, serve dinner at the expo the night before the race, and man water stations along the route.
"We have water stations that are being manned by a lot of different organizations, but we have a lot of turns on our race that requires volunteers to man every one of those intersections during those turns," said ACVB Director Rashelle Beasley.
Volunteers will get a free ticket to the Mardi Gras street party at Riverfront Park from 12 to 8 that Saturday.
Everyone who finishes race will get a medal in the shape of the state of georgia designed by the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau.
