ALBANY, GA (WALB) - State and local economic development leaders entertained business leaders from around the country Wednesday night in South Georgia.
The 27th Annual Georgia Quail Hunt kicked off with a reception at Wynfield Plantation on Leary Road.
Eighteen prospects in manufacturing, distribution and agriculture who are considering relocating or expanding in Georgia are here.
Officials said the event has a history of getting results.
" Over those 27 years this event, the prospects that we've brought in, the guest that we've brought in those guests have invested over 2.5 billion dollars in Georgia's economy and they've created over 8500 jobs in the last 27 years. So we know that this works," said Chris Clark, President and CEO Georgia Chamber Commerce.
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce which sponsors the event is also celebrating it's 100th Anniversary.
Hunting starts Thursday and runs through Friday.
