Development company works to bring businesses to Downtown Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The company overseeing Albany's downtown redevelopment gives an update to the Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority Board Wednesday night.

Shandon Development doesn't have much to show for the hundreds of thousands of dollars it's gotten from ADICA, but the owner said that will change soon.

Patrick Plettner said a Waffle House will break ground by the end of March on part of the old Bank of America property on Oglethorpe Boulevard.

He said they've signed new agreements with a Seafood Restaurant and Beauty Supply store to lease buildings on Front and Pine Streets.

Plettner also said those businesses, along with a dance studio and beauty salon should open in June and he's working to bring an outfitting store featuring kayak products and other outdoor supplies to Front Street.
