Poulan man severely assaulted in Tifton

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Poulan man is recovering at home after he was beaten in a Tifton parking lot last week.

Police are asking for help to figure out who attacked him.

Kayla Brown is trying to be strong while her husband, James Brown, recovers at their home after he was assaulted last week

Im holding up, I have to be strong for my husband," says Kayla Brown.

She says they were out shooting pool Friday night and went to a couple of bars.

But things got out of hand in the parking lot when someone attacked her husband.

"A guy came up from behind him and put him in a choke hold," says Brown

She says the attacker held her husband till he passed out and hit the ground. He was taken to Tift Regional and then flown to Macon for treatment.

"You wouldn't never think it would happen to you," she says.

Tifton police are still investigating, and haven't said what the motive could be, but want anyone who was there that night to come forward.

"We do want to talk to anybody that saw whahappenednd so that we can then do what'necessaryry on our end," Lt. Lee Dunston, with the Tifton Police Dept.

Kayla Brown says she's not sure why her husband was targeted, but wants the attacker brought to Justice.

"Please come forward. If you've seen it come forward," says Brown.
