TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Peanut Farmers met in Tifton Wednesday to hear and present the latest information from crop research.
The Georgia Peanut Commission held their annual research report day at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus. The latest and newest research was presented from peanut projects funded by GPC in 2014.
Topics included yield improvement, irrigation and pests.
"Cooperative Extensions Service does a great job of bringing those production meetings to the counties, but this is just another place to inform ourselves of the latest research," said Donald Chase, peanut farmer.
GPC awarded more than $300,000 to peanut research facilities in 2014.
There are 28 research projects from the University of Georgia and USDA Agricultural Research Service funded.
