The nation has been dealing with the worst measles outbreak in more than a decade and now, that outbreak has made its way into Georgia. The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed the state's first reported case of measles since 2012. The infected infant arrived in Atlanta from outside of the U.S. and is being cared for at a hospital in Atlanta .
Although there is much debate about the side effects from the measles vaccine, there is a call from President Obama, other lawmakers, from most of those in health care industry, and from other parents for caregivers to get children vaccinated against measles and adults...to get vaccinated, too, if they have not.
We join that appeal and hope Georgians and others and across the nation will make sure everyone is vaccinated.
