VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A mother has been charged with strangling and beating her children.

Valdosta Police arrested 20-year-old Taiesha Cedeno at her apartment on Old Statenville Road around 1 p.m. Sunday. She is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and cruelty towards children.

According to a report, she is accused of strangling her two-year-old and hitting her three-month-old in the face. Investigators said she also threw cans of food around the apartment and broke several drinking glasses.

"A witness said that she may have been on some type of medication or drugs, but we're not a hundred percent sure at this time," said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Aaron Kirk.

Both children were injured, but not seriously hurt. They were placed under the care of relatives.
