Albany police responded to shots fired overnight

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police were dispatched to a lounge Sunday morning after hearing gunshots.

Albany police said that they responded to the Sandtrap Lounge and Club at 911 East Oglethorpe Blvd. around 2:30 a.m., when officers requested assistance after hearing shots fired.

Officer observed four different vehicles with damage as a result to gunshots in the parking lot of the club.

The owner of the cars damaged were Kimya Thomas, Kenyetta Jones, and Tiecia Ayers, according to APD.

Several police units responded to clear the scene.

One person was also arrested for underage drinking.

The owner of Albany 8 Inn also notified police that a bullet went through room 221 while it was occupied.

The man in room 211 was Marcus Thomas, according to APD.

No injuries were reported.
