Freedom singers honor black history month

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Freedom Singers performed for folks in celebration of black history month.

Saturday's concert is part of Albany State's Human Rights and Civil Rights Symposium. The college is honoring Black History Month.

Organizers say its important to remember the past as we move into the future.

“It is important I think for historical reasons for us occasionally to look back so we are guided by what happened in the past as we move to the future,” says Dr. James L. Hill, with Albany State University.

On Monday, Albany State will have guest speakers, and panel discussions all day inside their student center starting at 9 a.m.
